Nobel Laureate visited IBCB

On July 16th, Dr. Sidney Altman, sterling professor of biology and chemistry at Yale University, the co-recipient of the Nobel Prize in chemistry in 1989 (with Thomas R. Cech) for the discovery of catalytic RNA, was invited to visit Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences during his present at "the 10th International Symposium of the Society of Chinese Bioscientists in America (SCBA)" in Beijing.Dr. Sidney Altman gave a lecture entitled "RNase P: structure and function in prokaryotes and human cells".
 
Within the one hour meeting, SIBS President Gang Pei, Assistant President Kan Liao, IBCB Director Lin Li, and senior professor Qishui Lin, Boliang Li,Enduo Wang and Youxin Jin met and had a friendly talk with him.
