IBCB´s Representative Visited Prof. Ebashi

On June 22, Prof. Zu-xun Gong and Ms. Hua Xu., on behalf of the Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology and Cao Tian Qin Scholarship Fund, visited famous scientist in Japan, who is also the honorary professor of our Institute, Prof. Emaritus Setsuro Ebashi.
Prof. Ebashi is a good friend of our institute and of the formal deputy director of Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry, Professor Cao Tian Qin. After professor Cao Tian Qin passed away in 1995, he was invited to be the council member of the Cao Tian Qin Scholarship Fund, and he donated several times amount 20,000 USD to support the the Cao Tian Qin memory symposiums held by the Fund. Our Institute has very good friendship with him and favored to have him as our honorary professor from 1998. With the time moving, professor and his wife are getting aged, and Prof. Ebashi got stroke in 2000. For this special visit, both professor and his wife wrote some words for us to express their friendship and appreciation to our Institute and friends in Shanghai. They send the professor Ebashi´s full corrected works in four volumes to IBCB as the gift. The deep friendship was strongly impressed on us.
We sincerely wish Prof. Ebashi and his wife have a good health in the future.
