A delegation from National Science Foundation(NSF)visit SIBS

On May 31st, Dr. James P. Collins, Assisstant Director of the U.S. National Science Foundataion(NSF), Dr. Joann Roskoski, executive officer of NSF Directorate for Biological Sciences, accompanied by Dr.William Chang, Director of the NSF Beijing Office, paid 1-day visit to Shanghai Institute for Biological.
 
Dr.Jinqiu Zhou, Assisstant of President of SIBS hosted the delegation and gave a brief introduction on the history, mission, research areas, research achievements and international cooperation of SIBS. He held talks with the guests on granduate education, internatioanal cooperation projects and talents introduction. Dr. Collins hoped two sides could promote the exchanges and strengthen the international cooperation in the future.
 
Later, the delegation visited Natioan Center for Gene Reasearch, Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology and Institute of Neurosciences.
 
The National Science Foundation (NSF) is the federal governments only agency dedicated to the support of education and fundamental research in all scientific and engineering disciplines. Their mission is to ensure that the United States maintains leadership in scientific discovery and the development of new technologies.
