SIBCB Held the 2009 Annual Symposium

The Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology (SIBCB) held its 2009 Annual Symposium from January 7^th to 9^th in Jiaxing, Zhejiang. About 260 people attended this symposium including 10 oversea scholars.

 

In the opening remarks, Dr. Anning Lin, the director of SIBCB, welcomed all the participants, highlighted the research achievements made by SIBCB in 2009 and delivered his expectations and thoughts on the future development of the institution. Dr. Junlin Guan, the representative of the oversea scholars, appreciated the work that had done by the institution and showed his full support to SIBCB.

 

At the symposium, the invited speakers Dr. Shaocong Sun from University of Texas M. D, and Dr. Dianqing Wu from Yale University gave keynote speeches. Senior and junior PIs from SIBCB and students representatives presented their research progress to the audience. In the evening, the symposium held poster session for students to exhibit their ongoing work and some of them were selected for Best Poster Awards. The SIBCB also held the Appointment Ceremony of Junior PI Mentor/Co-mentor.

 

The symposium ended with a visit to the famous water town- Wuzhen on January 9^th.
