SIBCB introduced the Junior PI Mentor system

On January 7, 2010, the Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology (SIBCB) invited seven international renowned scholars, Dr. Shaocong Sun, Dr. Junlin Guan, Dr. Dianqing Wu, Dr. Yixian Zheng, Dr. Zhenggang Liu, Dr. Hua Gu and Dr. Wei Du to attend the 2009 SIBCB Annual Symposium and took the chance to hold the Appointment Ceremony of Junior PI Mentor/Co-mentor. Dr. Anning Lin, the director of SIBCB, issued each appointee of a certificate of appointment.

 

The members of mentor committee including the seven oversea scholars mentioned above, and also Dr. Ting Xie, Dr. Xiangdong Fu, Dr. Jiazhun Han, Dr. Heng Zhu, Dr. Xiaofan Wang, Dr. Haifan Lin, Dr. Yingzi Yang, Dr. Kunliang Guan, and Dr. Hao Wu. The institute hopes the mentor system could provide better support to the careers development of junior PIs through setting up a many-to-many relationship between the experts and PIs, and broaden the horizons of future developments, leading the SIBCB to become one of the best research institutions in the world.
